Eleanor Anglin
Eleanor’s passion and love for nature was instilled in her at a young age while playing outdoors in rural Virginia. She has traveled throughout the United States and Europe. After retiring, Eleanor and her husband, Tom, decided to travel full time and give back by volunteering at different parks.
Florida’s pleasant climate, abundant parks, trails and beautiful beaches drew them here. The unique limestone cave system, vibrant flowers, family atmosphere and camaraderie at Florida Caverns State Park lure them back every year. She feels like the park staff are their extended family.
Often found at the ranger station answering phones, greeting visitors and campers as they enter the park, Eleanor’s excitement and enthusiasm for the caverns and local area is contagious. She enjoys watching children’s eyes light up while talking about the Junior Ranger Program.
After the devastating effects of Hurricane Michael, Eleanor and Tom were an integral part of the team to help reopen the park.
We are grateful to have Eleanor’s positive can-do attitude at Florida Caverns State Park.
