Paynes Prairie is a nearly 23,000- acre preserve managed by the Florida Park Service. Paynes Prairie is a natural feature that is biologically, geologically, and historically unique. The Prairie's relationship to people past, present, and future is an important one. The Rim Ramble hike is a 1.5-mile trail meanders through a dense upland forest and sinkhole rich topography. The terrain varies from level ground to gently rolling hills. Portions of the trail may be seasonally wet. The hike originates at the La Chua Trail Horse Barn. The hike is limited to the first 25 people in attendance. Pets are not allowed. Service animals are welcome.
