Welcome to the Cross Florida Greenway, Florida’s “Superconnector” in a developing statewide and regional network of interconnected trails and ecological corridors. The greenway was established out of the ill-fated Cross Florida Ship and Barge Canal projects to protect and preserve the extensive and diverse habitats. It includes Great Depression era “diggings” and water control structures from the 1960s barge canal project.
Enjoy the beautiful weather we have here in Florida on the Cross Florida Greenway! With more than 70,000-plus acres and 290 miles of trails for bikers, hikers and equestrians, there is plenty to explore. And for our water lovers, we have many paddling opportunities along the Ocklawaha and Withlacoochee rivers. This is the perfect time of year to be out on the water! Or if you prefer, enjoy our campgrounds and wonderful fishing spots, sure to please any outdoor enthusiast. We have something for everyone! The outdoors is a wonderful place to be. Come out today and enjoy all that our beautiful state has to offer.
