Friend Groups

We actively lead events and initiatives to bolster community involvement - individual and corporate - through volunteering and the investment of time and money, in order to assure the best protection and conservation of the park's natural resources. 

Raises funds from events and appropriate grants that can be used by Oscar Scherer State Park for projects and equipment purchases.

The Friends has been active in many projects, including the La Chua Trail interpretive booth, extensive visitor center improvements and numerous park events and offsite community events.

Friends of Pensacola State Parks is a nonprofit organization that supports Big Lagoon State Park, Perdido Key and Tarkiln Bayou Preserve. We are an organization of volunteers committed to the preservation of the parks for the enjoyment of visitors for generations to come.

The Friends of Rainbow Springs State Park, Inc. (FORS) exists to promote community interest in Rainbow Springs State Park and to assist in the Florida Park Service mission of providing resource-based recreation while preserving, interpreting and restoring natural and cultural resources.

The Friends of San Felasco is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park.

The Friends of Savannas Preserve State Park, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to support the preservation, maintenance, and interpretation of Savannas Preserve State Park.

The Friends of Sebastian Inlet State Park is a non-profit citizen support organization comprised of individuals and groups dedicated to supporting Sebastian Inlet State Park.  Their role is one of support for the park and the two museums located within it.

Friends of Silver Springs State Park is a citizen support organization, a nonprofit volunteer organization, dedicated to preserving and enhancing Silver Springs State Park. We support Silver Springs State Park by providing volunteers, educating visitors, hosting events and raising funds for specific park projects.

The friends members work to support the Florida State Parks mission “to provide resource-based recreation while preserving, interpreting and restoring natural and cultural resources.” We have been actively assisting the Florida Park Service with this mission since 1991.

Friends of St. Joseph State Park is an organization of volunteers committed to preserving, maintaining and improving the parks for the enjoyment of visitors for generations to come.

Our mission is to enhance the activities and preserve the cultural and natural resources of our local Florida state parks in order to support the enjoyment of the natural beauty of the Real Florida.

The Friends of the Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserves (FCHAP) is a Citizen Support Organization for the Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserves and the Charlotte Harbor Preserve State Park. Established in 1995, the Friends provide funding, material, and volunteer support for staff to facilitate management of the Park and Preserves.
